Weeks one to two
Stabilize. Confirm any severance terms, benefits continuation, and unemployment eligibility in your jurisdiction before making commitments.
Weeks three to six
Inventory the work you were already trusted to do. Freelance demand is usually strongest for the narrow, specific tasks colleagues asked you for repeatedly.
Weeks seven to twelve
Price deliberately, contract in writing, and track hours honestly. If freelance income does not develop, that is information, not failure.
