A Low-Cost Side Hustle Is Still a Business: What to Understand Before You Start
Low startup cost is not the same as low effort or low risk.

"Low startup cost" is one of the most common phrases in the side-hustle category, and one of the least useful on its own.
Cost is only one input
A venture that costs little to begin can still require months of unpaid learning before it produces revenue. Before starting, it is worth writing down four numbers: cash required, hours per week available, weeks until first likely revenue, and the smallest amount that would make the effort worthwhile.
Where beginners commonly underestimate
Customer acquisition is the most frequently underestimated cost. So is bookkeeping.
A realistic framing
No publication can tell you what you will earn. Treat any specific income figure attached to a side hustle as a claim to verify, not a projection.
